What those numbers prove is that BG3 did not raise the bar (as the old Baldur's Gate 1/2 did), it just made the high budget AAA developers and games look like clowns under the bigtop. It showed that current AAA development SOP/cycles are bloated and broken (Diablo IV is a perfect example). Larian was agile and efficient in development. They don't have a useless CEO/president that does nothing but sit in his castle raking in tons of cash.


It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..
