The first trailer for Avowed a few years back was so cool. Then it got rebooted 1-2 times. I hope it’s more like a PoE game from a first person perspective set in an open world built like Skyrim… but it’s probably just going to be fantasy Outer Worlds.

I’d be more on board with all of that if it had the option to play in third person. 1st person only is almost always a deal breaker for me. I just don’t enjoy that style.
Obsidian has specifically said the most recent trailer video does not represent what the game will look and feel like as it uses pre-alpha footage. They have also said that although the gameworld will be very large the game is not open world, and rather will be a story-driven game. The "reboot" was driven entirely by abandoning the initial concept of the game being a multiplayer game to now being a single-player focused game.

But having said all that, I agree with you @Warlocke that the game being exclusively first-person would be a deal-breaker for me. I've been hitting that point hard on the Obsidian forum.
