Hopefully not counting as spam on this forum, but a different point:
Bg3's release sabotaged D4. This is a double blow to AAA gaming. Even if I feel like a score of above 90% isn't fully deserved in Bg3 case, because of how it left me hanging... and somewhat trolled... who am I kidding, *thoroughly* trolled... It's not all bad. It will positively influence the direction of gaming as a whole. A game with turn based combat being this successful is something few expected. You can bet this is part of why critics are hyping it up. More Bg3s (if at a smaller scope) and fewer D4s would not hurt
