Like everyone else, I'm sure, the first thing I wanted to do when I fired up BG3 for the first time was to create all the PC concepts I've had over the years and not gotten to play in a campaign. One of these was a paladin who was so ugly that he was routinely mistaken for a beggar or a thief. When I tried to create him in BG3 … no luck whatsoever. My choices were, I could make him handsome, or I could make him ruggedly handsome. Come on, give us some deep acne and pox scarring! Give us stringy hair and scraggly mustaches! Not everyone wants to play a fashion plate!

Funny enough their excuse to not implement sliders is because everyone would look like a fashion model.

I guess different people have different tastes, because i find more then half face presets in this game below mediocre.

I don't understand this reasoning. If they said they couldn't implement it because of resources or lack of experience and time - it's a one thing.

But because most people would try to make 5 star models? Meh.

there are great faces for npcs that are 'normal' not model looking, itd be great if pcs could access them.

Minthara is the best character and she NEEDS to be recruitable if you side with the grove!
Also- I support the important thread in the suggestions: Let everyone in the Party Speak

If only we could use mods... wink

I recommend taking a look at the "Customizer's Companion" mod which unlocks several NPC assets (heads, hairs) for use in the character creator. Not for every race, but humans, half-elves, elves and tieflings are covered.

Interesting.
My initial thoughts on the faces we can choose from was: "Why has everyone such an ugly jaw line?"
Everyone looks either as if they are Buzz Lightyear imitators or have no facial features whatsoever.

Have you even seen the drow ranger hireling?

I wanted a ranger companion, but that one is ugly.

There was a thread opened earlier that complained about the females being too ugly. frown

Oops! This was on a different forum.

And here I am. Resorting to mods. Thinking handsome/pretty/beautiful PCs limited enough that they might start to look identical (to the rest of the party only maybe, but certainly past PCs!). Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.

Early on in my current game I did some trading with Arron in the Grove then went to the Overgrown Passage(?). I killed the goblins and revived Findal only to find myself looking at Arran. Talk about "same bloke, different haircut".
