I'd like to hear an explanation as to what you think makes Barbarians strong.

Fighter gets a 2nd extra attack, double action once per short rest, and if battle-master, 5xd10 (~27.5 dmg) superiority dice of extra damage each short rest with added effects like tripping/disarming etc.

Barbarians get rage that adds 2-3 damage per attack (6 total per turn).

In dnd5e it seems to me the BM fighter's much better, and I never saw the allure of Barbarians, but in Baldur's Gate 3, with weapons doing significantly more damage per attack, the fighter scales so much better.

Example Let's say you use the Everburn blade you can get in the introduction, fighter does 3*(2d6+1d4+5)~43.5, barbie does 2*(2d6+1d4+5+3)~35; But fighter also gets action surges and superiority dice for +71 damage each short rest, barbarians get nothing, and improving gear further scales the fighter's damage better than the barb, as does hasting.

I wanted to like Barbarians, but they just seem inferior....

Berserkers get to use bonus action for extra attack, but so do fighters with GWF in BG3.
