I think you should be able to respec everyone at least once, for companions anyway, or let you spec them right after they join. I think it makes more sense in the harder difficulties to let you build the party out however you want it.
On the save front, please no. I have to save scum because I crash 1-3 times an hour. I'd like a mode like this, but limiting saves would make it a hard no until it is more stable.
