Sorry, I should have specified. The most recent save file from the host, should be an LSV file and a WebP screenshot. They go here, or the equivalent: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\Savegames\Story - In my case my host just zipped the save, tossed it into Discord, and then I unzipped it there and loaded the game on my end, effectively swapping who was hosting.
Ugh, why didn't I have this idea myself

First tests look promising - no T-poses, no loading errors.
Tomorrow i can tell more when we test around in act 3 and try to go on.
For Larian and everyone else could be interesting if your PC is the "slower" one, or not. Here in our case my partners computer is running on an i5 6600k which did not make any problems before, but my cpu is an i9 9900k so at least regarding processing power my computer is the much faster host.
so for anyone, if you try it in your personal setting, maybe try to switch the hosting computer to the slowest / weakest processor - just as an idea.
