It amuses me how much small indie studios like Blizzard and Activision are tweeting about how they don't have the resources and ability to make games like Larian.
"Baldurs Gate 3 can't be the new standard in RPGs! We can't make games like Larian, it's an anomaly, it's wrong, it's not fair!"
But there are examples of high-quality RPGs, such as Pathfinder - Wrath of the Righteous, for the development of which they raised money on kickstarter.
Dragon Age Origin was also a legendary game that the developers put their hearts into; and which was made into commercial crap in later installments to profit from. A very weak second part, and the Inquisition, which is remembered for a huge number of gay scenes and various issues of the 21st century, and an almost complete lack of heterosexual content.
It's been 10 years already, more than the development of Baldur's Gate 3, we are still waiting for a new part.
