The Light spell shows that the duration is until a long rest. But, when casting the spell there is a timer and the spell will expire.
Which is correct?
- Does the spell have a limited duration (20 rounds) or
- Should it behave as the spell description and last until a long rest?

From my own experience it lasts indefinitely when cast on equipped weapons, but only 20 turns when cast on objects.

I cast it on my clothes and it ran out. I'll try it on an item like a sword.

UPDATE: I cast it on a sword and equipped the sword. Still has a duration of 20 turns.

Cast it on the character while the weapon is equipped. The cantrip will be applied to the weapon and last until long rest.

OK, so casting it on the character defaults to applying Light to their weapon. When doing this, it does last until a long rest. Now I need to try casting on a person with no weapon to see if it default to something like their clothes/armor.

Thanks for the help guys.
