You don't even need to do that. If you toss an invisibility potion at an npc, even if it shows a percentage chance, the splash on the floor always applies the ffect anyways. Ravenguard becomes invisible. The spiders derp out and do nothing while he trivially gets to safety. This is how you easily rescue Florrick as well.
