You can go check out the datamining thread on this very forum to see that it was a little more than "scraps of unused files."
People have certainly datamined audio files, assets, characters, etc. and thats probably enough for some of the things on that list. At least to show that some were at least considered at some point before being dropped for whatever reason.
But then I see claims like this, and would frankly want to know exactly what was found before spreading it around the internet:
7) Avernus - An entire area of the game. Avernus was meant to be fully explorable and of similar size to the Underdark Area of Act 1. It would be a source not only for Soul Coins but other rare materials, highly difficult fights, and special content for Karlach.
Did someone datamine an entire working game region, complete with map, quests, characters, encounters, etc that was cut at the last minute? Or did they find a few bits and pieces that were never properly developed? Because theres a massive difference.
