Hello Larian Studio and Baldurs Gate 3 fans,

I have a problem with the Mayrina quest (Act 1, Sunset Fields):

Now maybe I missed some options or optional things but I thought I had salvaged what was salvagable and stopped the evil hag from claiming even more gullible victims. Then I found a certain wand and a new part of the quest popped up. Now at this point my option seem to be only either a: Using said wand (with predictable results) or b: destroying said wand in front of Mayrina after claiming it might help her and giving her false hope when you need both int and wis scores below 7 to actually belief this might go well in any way, shape or form. This situation is not improved by me playing a paladin with the oath of ancients, meaning one option is oathbreaking and the other seems needlessly and pointlessly cruel. I would greatly appreciate a third option where I could explain to Mayrina that I found the way the hag intended to fulfill her side of the deal but that it is totally, 100% not going to work out. Given the amount of evidence around this should not be that much of a problem.

Maybe someone else has the same problems/misgivings with the quest?

Leaving the quest incomplete and walking away is a legitimate choice. Just imagine the quest log entry as your player character's lingering discontent with the outcome of the situation.

That sort of is my current "solution". I pretend I managed to get the total fucked-up-ness of her decision making through her skull and escorted her out of the swamp to get on with the rest of her life. If this was a real life roleplaying session I would try to take further action on account of her being clearly unfit to raise a child but this is a computer game and also everything around me is also on fire including my own brain so I am kind of overworked so I pretend my character plans to do that later. That said I was hoping for a better solution which actually resolves the quest out of my journal. If I could mod I would actually try to resolve this myself. Yes it bugs me that much.
