I encountered an unexpected disappointment...

In the third act, I had a lot of money and valuable loot, and there was no way to spend it.

Why not make expensive gifts for companions, buying and upgrading a house, having a luxurious party, patronage that would affect the game world, the ability to hire an expensive assassin to kill Gortash, and stuff like that. Perhaps some elite escort besides drow twins, whatever.

Lmao, I always get 4-5k gold, couldn't afford the 12k stuff. Too lazy to steal lmao (because I think my char can survive without it).

Also since I spam health potion a lot I spend a lot of money on potion whenever I can.

There are a half dozen merchants in Act 3 alone selling a bunch of GREAT, build-defining items ranging from 8 to 20K EACH ONE.
Are you people even browsing stuff before bragging that you don't know how to spend your paltry 30k?

I only saw a blacksmith who sold cool armor for 8 thousand, and I stunned him and stole it

Can you tell me where all this stuff is sold for 10-20k each item? I searched all the stores

There's another blacksmith.
There's the Lorrikan Tower vendor.
There's the Mummy vendor.
There's the "diabolist" vendor.

And so on.
All selling valuable and expensive gear.

You stunning and robbing your way into some forceful proletarian expropriation doesn't mean there aren't things to spend money on.

I mean, I'm often low on money, because merchants sell so cool stuff. Granted, I'm only in act 2 now, but I doubt, that will change.

Eh I have -76% discount on everything in act 3, yet to see anything that costs more than 3k gold for purple gears, all of which I bought and I always have like 20k+ gold from looting and selling everything that is at most 1 weight for 1 gold.

Even rotten food, collect it all, sell it all.

If I needed any more gold I could sell all the excess camp supplies, I haven't even sold my owlbear egg yet.

I bought every purple thing I found, most expensive so far was like 3664 gold or such. Purple hat on Lae'zell, +1d4 necrotic damage on every hit, but if she doesnt deal damage in a round she takes damage, meh when does laezell not hit?

Wait a min would equipping persuasion ring and amulet make the discount higher?

I must be getting an enormous discount also. I've been to all those vendors, and I'm not seeing anything near the prices Tuco is mentioning. Something seems off.

If you aren't using a CHA main, make a CHA hireling to do your shopping. So a 20 CHA rogue with persuasion expertise, ring and amulet would get the biggest discount hmmm.

Or wait I think I have persuasion and deception expertise on my sorc somehow. Oh yes, its an illithid power. Intimidation too, +13 in all 3.

And damn, its -88% discount if I put on the +1 persuasion / deception ring.

I was mistaken about the amulet, its +1 performance not persuasion.

More things to remember for second playthrough sigh.

*shrug* If there were a ton of things that required massive Charisma abuse to even afford at all, players would complain that there wasn't enough money in the game and that you "need" to abuse the game mechanics to afford stuff.

Somehow I think this is the less-annoying outcome.

Eh, is it really abuse if my sorc needs 20 cha anyway and I didn't even realize it was the tadpole power that buffed all my speech skills to +13.

Second playthrough gonna be sorc again though cos I need one with shield proficiency.

Wait,13 persuasion is -76%, 14 is -88%, so at 15 everything becomes free?

How to get 15 persuasion or 22 CHA hjalp.

If you are telling me that I've been paying the entire game massively inflated prices just because my main character isn't charisma based (and In fact it's a barbarian with 8 CHAR) then I would ALSO count that as a shortcoming of the game having a stupid implementation for this stuff.

Nurr nurr, but like why does this still cost money?

100% discount get (I looked up spoilers and found +2 CHA hat here).

And thats a nice chest armour for Jaheira currently, in my next playthrough I'll make a gith sorc for it.

Also it was the same in BG1&2, higher CHA = lower prices.

And as already mentioned, you can just use a hireling for this purpose, you dont need a CHA main.

But even without a hireling, you have Wyll, and I think he can get expertise from a pact thing too? Or even if you waste a feat or tadpoles on him.

I was going to romance gale / astarion and upload 'Andrew Tate goes gay' videos to youtube, but so far only shadowheart romanced me.

Also oh its a light armour, don't need an ugly gith for it, can make human.

Yeah, they use the charisma of the person speaking to the npc. I checked the prices between my party members before selling at first vendor. Also, you can take out gold you would get from selling or give more when buying to increase vendor favor. I did this for first two vendor's since its just them for a while.
