I didn't even realize there was drama about people hating Lae'zel. I don't think I ever saw it on the forum or the subreddit (much as I detest that place). She's a neat character. Not necessarily my favorite, but her story and arc is definitely one of the best. I think the writers had a very clear idea for her and ran with it, and it paid off.
