after freeing Orpheus and he said :

"Let me use the Orb (bomb). It'll save you or anyone else having to turn into a mindflayer."

Now, I wanted to let Gale go out in a blaze of glory. A true heroes death, but when I went to speak back to Orpheus he basically just ignored Gale and only gave me two options : Me or Him need to turn into a Mindflayer.

I know the ending and the latter part is notoriously buggy, but surely there is a way to let Gale go out with the Orb while saving Orpheus and NOT becoming a Mind Flayer?

Did anyone else feel robbed by the fact there was no ending cutscene for their love interest? Or did I just get bugged? I romanced Shadowheart all the way, did her quest, guided her toward Selune, let her free her parents from their suffering, had both the Waterfall and Swimming scenes as well as the Act 3 post-House of Grief chat about her parents...but got nothing before or after the credits rolled.

My main path was to free Orpheus, he turned into a mindflayer (as stated above), we went and killed the Netherbrain and ordered it to free everyone, Wyll went to Avernus with Karlach, Lae'zel flew off to lead the Gith, Halsin and Jaheira said two words about a party....and nothing from my lovely Shadowheart. What gives?

In my ending I freed Orpheus and had him turn into a Mindflayer, but after everyone just called me a Mind Flayer and Lae'zel told me Orpheus was dead despite standing next to me.

I tried a second time, and this time Lae'zel got a cool ending, but Gale and Astarion who was an ascended vampire weren't acknowledged in anyway.
