Maybe the true price for tadpole infestation was rotten pizzas
This caught my imagination. Perhaps tomatoes are deathly poison to tadpoles and The Cult have burnt all the tomato vines to ash? OR perhaps it's the other way around, and mindflayers go completely mad for tomatoes (apart from brains) and they've stashed all the ripe ones somewhere?
I don't know.
I did find a fesh kiwi though.
Ok, perhaps the tomatoes are just not that tasty? Tomato season is over but the good people of Faerűn did not manage to eat them all?
Or perhaps there is one fresh tomato somewhere, in a hard to find hiding place, one that provides a temporary funny effect, a tomato that the developers at Larian have dubbed 'The Easter Tomato'?
If you go to the ground floor kitchen at Lady Jarrah's, "Fine At Home: A Cookery Book" is on a table open at a recipe which not only calls for '1 cup high quality crushed tomatoes' but also '4 unit of tomatoes, preserved by canning' - so not only have the fresh tomatoes have gone missing but the tinned ones have vanished also.
I'm ignoring the other 'missing' ingredients (the olives, the various herbs and spices and the red peppers) for now because they don't appear anywhere at all, whereas the rotten tomatoes are right there taunting me with their anomalous existence.
