Larian, why was the amazing Amelia Tyler directed to act as 'phone sex operator' instead of 'storyteller' as the game narrator? I love, love, love this game but it's come to the point where I mute my volume whenever she's narrating, and that's a damn shame because she's such a huge part of this game.

I'm not a phone sex specialist but I'm pretty sure that's not like this and I suppose she would not make a great career in that purpose with her voice acting in bg3.

She narrates like someone reading a story. If you are sexualising her voice that feels like a you problem, nothing to do with her or the game. idk, develop a more healthy relationship with women's voices?
Minthara is the best character and she NEEDS to be recruitable if you side with the grove! Also- I support the important thread in the suggestions: Let everyone in the Party Speak

Does it sound like I'm enjoying her voice? And yes, maybe it is a me problem, but my relationship with women's voices is just fine, thank you. My girlfriend agrees with me on this issue, so relax, francis.

No, there's definitely a sultry element to Amelia Tyler's delivery. TBQH, I never felt it fit the tone of the story, although it fitted a little better when the tadpole was more, well, seductive.

While her tone and delivery might lean a little bit into the sultry or sensuous style, saying it's akin to 'phone sex' and that you have to mute her really comes off as crude hyperbole. She does a terrific delivery and is one of my key enjoyments of the game, and I have never found her tone of voice unfittingly sexual. It's just her voice. Go listen to her outtakes and you'll see this is merely how she sounds when she's talking calmly. It's a storytime voice I'd wager most kids would find intriguing.
Saying they ought to have gone for a rugged old man voice or a different voice-actor is personal preference. She's gotten a lot of well deserved appreciation for her BG3 narration though.

Of course it was hyperbole. It's a literary tool to emphasise a point. And please, do show me where I said they should have gone for a rugged old man voice or another voice-actor. I love Amelia Tyler. Stop making shit up.

Her voice sounds like a normal woman's voice, I don't know, why some people have do much problems with her. Of course voices are entirely subjective, I for example hate Astarions voice, while most people like it. But there is nothing sexualised about the narrator's voice.

Personally speaking she's perfect. Loved her in Divinity Original Sin 2 as Malady and in BG3 her narration perfectly encapsulates the tones of every scene she narrates. Whether it's mystery or intimacy, danger or harmony, lighthearted joy or absolute dread. The way she talks whenever the party is in the presence of an almighty being that could crush us just by looking at us makes me feel smaller than an ant
