I've always selected these options and haven't been hit on inappropriately by any of my companions (well, except for Lae'zel in the early game but that was in character and funny). Astarion and Wyll (eventually) did make moves but then my character had intentionally flirted with them a little. Noone else has, despite being friendly and curious about them, and Lae'zel and Astarion (who my character let down after a one-night stand) haven't repeated their advances.
I am curious… did you enter long rests frequently in the early part of your playthrough and routinely talk to origins characters? This seems to be a viable strategy for avoiding much of the jankiness.
I've been trying to long rest only at points where it makes sense in the story, so didn't do much resting in the early game. I've been creating a save before each long rest, so I know that for me the party was night eight. Some of the scenes previously locked to camp do now just happen (a bit weirdly in some cases) out in the world if you have the companion with you. But iirc this wasn't the case for Gale as I swapped him when I met Wyll, and I got his dialogue in camp.
I did talk to everyone every night, though.
"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"
