I bought BG3 and tried last week and seems like my old PC cannot run this game smoothly [it's like 7-8 years since I boguht]
first, I'm thinking about getting new PC just for this game.
Then I realize that I also have a plan to buy new TV. So, getting PS5 instead would be much cheaper.

Problem is, The game will be launched on PS5 next week but I can't find much detail of the game even on youtube.
At least, I want to see how well optimization of the game on PS5 but I rarely find one.

Try it on GFN.

I play on GeForce Now at 4k/120 ultra with Dlaa without problems. 90 fps on average.

Streaming Bitrate 70 mbps. Ultimate tier.

I'm not sure if we'll get any videos or other information until it's released. Maybe from reviews. There was a trailer for it .

I was going to get it for PS5 but bought a newer laptop instead. Not just for this game.

I also played on GeForce Now ultimate tier but would get kicked off occasionally due to spotty connection even though my internet speeds are pretty good.

I have an old PC and the performance is about what I would expect on it, so I have no worries for the PS5 version. I'll probably pick it up on PS5 when it goes on sale, cheaper than upgrading my whole PC.

Yep it's very frustrating. I have pre-ordered it on PS5 and will just hope for the best.

Whoever is handling the marketing/roll out of BG3 on console is doing an awful job. There has been little to no information, barely any footage shown.

It's a shame as I am really looking forward to playing the game and this lack of engagement from the developers definitely puts a damper on things and makes one wonder if there is a problem with the port and that's why they are not showing anything.

I hope that is not the case but they could easily allay peoples concerns but just doing a short preview or updated gameplay trailer.

I'm not sure what they are thinking.

Their main audience is pc. C-rpgs are not popular on console. They release it on console as a way to soften people to their company and create exposure. They don't care how it does, it can sell 0 copies and they will be fine.

I never had a problem (I played Poe Dos 1 dos 2 and now BG3), and I play from a nation in which there aren't nvidia servers.

I have 24 ms ping on average.

What type of connection have you?

Ethernet connection not WiFi. Haven't had any issues with other games that I play online over WiFi. I play some games on Xbox and Switch.

Anyway I figured there would be other games I would need either GeForce Now to play or a new computer since my current one was old. And a new computer on sale would be cheaper in the long run than paying for the subscription every month.

@AusarViled Yes but this is not just a standard crpg. It is a crpg combined with dragon age/mass effect/Witcher style dialogue/close camera role playing sections which makes a difference as it appeals to more people and not just the hardcore crpg crowd.

I understand that the game has sold well already but pretty sure they would not be happy/fine if the game sold 0 copies on PS.

It's obviously not going to sell "zero copies" on consoles, but I'd be surprised if the sales on PS5 would amount to more than, say, the 25-30% of their PC sales AT BEST.

Which is still decent money in the end and something that helps a lot with recouping the massive upfront investment they did on the game, but still probably far from their main focus.

A new serious gaming PC costs 2500 / 3000 € (without monitor / TV) in Europe (I don't know in what country do you live).

2500 € (low tier cost) / 16,67 € month (GFN Ultimate Tier 6 month subscription) = 150 months = 12,5 years. In addition GFN hardware is always updated, you don't have energy consumption for high end PC, Cloud gaming games are increasing day after day.

Why do you say you save on the long run?

Moderately on topic smile
I played BG3 with controller (my first contact with a controller evah!, mind you :))
The UI is not that bad. Some of the bugs seem to have been addressed in Patch 1, hence a Good Thing for all you console people smile
BTW - yes, Larian Studio's PR/marketing seem sub-par to me.

If you go with Steamspy numbers that is still at least 5,000,000+ copies at mininium on PS5, I think they are waiting till like a week after PS5 at least to release sales numbers. It's been #1 PS5 preorder what what weeks now?

Well if it helps, I've played the first 60 hours with controller, absolutely amazing implementation in this game.

Even better than DOS2's controller UI/functions.

just chiming in an saying geforce now is pretty amazing. i'm using it on my steam deck and the performance over playing it natively on the deck is so much better. constant 60 fps, higher resolution and max settings. my internet dl speed is about 330 mbps and i haven't had any issues, doesn't even feel like it's streaming.

i do have the ps5 version preordered. larian has done such a good job with the controller ui that it's my preferred way to play the game.

I would buy a copy on ps5 if we could do custom parties. I have to use a mod/workaround to get the party I want. I could suffer through the other unmoddable things, but custom party is kind of core for me.

So less than 24 hours before we can preload the BG3 on PS5.

I need to get to work finishing Armoured Core 6. Highly recommend it by the way, especially to any souls fans.
