I guess she is perceveied as a more "evil character" and another guess is that many players don't like gythyanki in general...
To be fair, most githyanki are evil, and Vlaakith is definitely evil. Lae'zel isn't inherently evil, but one can hardly fault people for making the assumption that a Vlaakith-worshipping githyanki is evil.
