Until yesterday i had no problems with BG3 since release. a few CTDs, one freeze, but nothing serious.
Yesterday in the evening i even played without problems, AFTER my GOG-launcher installed the latest patch.

But since then i'm feeling doomed.
Today i started larian launcher (through gog) and it said something about "file mismatch" and download 4.05 GB
After that i started the game and i only get to the main loading screen. It goes to 100%, i can hear main
menu music but i'm stuck at the loading screen. after a while windows says program is freezed and i can only shut it down.
also larian-launcher isn't able to send a crash report.

so i tried to verify my installed files - loaded 175 MB again, but no change - stuck at 100% loading screen (before main menu).

last thing i tried is to uninstall and reinstall - after 3 hours of download gog.launcher said "unable to install, try again (doesn't work either) or uninstall"

now i'm really PISSED... wtf is Larians quality management doing?

anyone with a suggestion what i can do now?

p.s.: buyed 1 month premium on geforce now cause it looked like i can play it there. but no, my gog-license doesn't work,
geforce now insists on a steam-license. thanks for nothing! really regreting buying this game on early access, feeling punched in the face now

Try loading the game directly from the .exe

Not sure if it is Gog or the game as my game is stuck according to gog at 91.8% or 4.22 gig can't stop it or abort, nor can I launch the game. However, the .exe works, as does the game.

Double post sorry, the forum is working particularly badly for me, time out errors galore.

If your files are getting corrupted, then there's an issue with your system. Files do not just get corrupted without a reason.

There's nothing there saying that files are corrupted.

As has been suggested try running the game directly from the exe. If you were using Vulkan you need the bg3.exe and if you were using DX11 then you need the bg3_dx11.exe

If verification of the files causes some of them to have to be redownloaded, either some files are corrupted or something has tampered with them. Neither Steam or GOG redownloads files just for fun.

Thx to all, solution was, as posted, to ignore everything launchers are saying and running it from bg3.exe.
Only problem left now: everytime i start my gog-launcher it starts the whole bg3-download cause it thinks my installation is corrupted.

Check if you didn't run out of free space on the drive where the game is installed. Also keep in mind that for SSD you need at least 100 GB of free space, otherwise your drive will be worn out in no time.

Barring that... it might be a problem with the GOG Galaxy, although it's unlikely. I'd reinstall it just in case.

Not sure if anyone here is running on linux but I had the same problem and figured out a solution.

Just wanted to say i've been trying to fix bg3 freezing on 100% for several days now.
TLDR: flatpak update

I run on pop_os! with steam and proton
I'd tried numerous (increasingly reckless) fixes I'd found online including running vulkan, skipping launcher, reinstalling nvidia driver, system updates, uninstalling and reinstalling wine (to run with lutris), removing patch 3 and 4 files and other bg3 file manipulations.
I was just about to reinstall bg3, then steam, then test with lutris. When I finally fixed it by updating my flatpaks.
Now to see if this has fixed dota2.
