Go for it!
Maybe lower the DEX to 10 and use a shield until you get Heavy Armour feat? At which point Magical Duels get decided by Muscle Wizard casts two-handed AXE!
Or start as Fighter and multiclass at 2nd lvl, then at 4th Wiz/5th Char level take Heavy Armour Mastery?
