Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Can't grab certain quest items

To continue 2 quests in Act Two I need 2 books. The Selunite Prayer Book, and the Teachings Of Loss: the Nightsinger. I am standing next to the books (all traps are disabled) but I can't pick them up. When I do Left Alt, I see the books but I just can't pick them up. I tried earlier Savegames, logging in and out, but I still can't pick them up. When I check YT videos on these 2 quests people can just pick them up like any other item in the game. Please help someone....

When you right click (not left click) on the highlighted item (camera angle sometimes blocks highlight) does it allow you to pick up (or steal) item?

No, can't pick up the items that way :-(

I've had problems with picking up items (especially gold on the floor in act 2) while using a controller. What solved it for me was swapping to mouse and instead of issuing a "pick up" order, to just drag and drop the items onto the character's portrait.
