I wrote a post earlier, but the forum ate it.
There are plenty of opportunities in Act 1 to find out that the tadpole you have doesn't function the way that tadpoles normally do. Even if you don't trust the dream visitor, there are
multiple characters who can give you this information. By Act 2, it's outright told to your character that
the tadpole can't be removed until you deal with the cult, and you are in no danger of transforming.
It's not "more logical" to rush, at all.
