Has anyone discovered a way to romance Karlach if you didn't in Act I (and politely turned down everyone else)?

You have to do certain actions in the specific time only. Miss it - and there is no other chance.

Thanks. Disappointing. A player commented elsewhere they would romance Shadowheart since they couldn't romance Karlach. I can't see doing that. It seems, I don't know, sad seems strong but maybe sad's settling cousin.

Lmao I think this was me. I was early enough that I could reload. Basically you have to do the infernal iron and have high approval in Act 1 BEFORE doing the grove party. Also don't romance Lae'zel (or, ideally, anyone else) during this process. Mention wanting to touch her. Then get the trigger for finding a way. Spray with water or ice. Let wholesomeness commence.

I may want to permanently borrow "let wholesomness commence."

Thanks for the hints. As for Lae'zel no fear. Great fighter but not my type. And I had no problem gently but firmly turning down everyone else. I think it actually makes sense everyone is primed for wholesomness. We each have a death sentence that could happen any second and fight for our lives almost every day. Why wouldn't you take your chance? If I was interested in anyone else I would appreciate getting clarity early and enjoying the connection the whole time.

Speaking of which. Or speaking of the devilish.

I split the difference between *really* starting over and not by starting a new timeline -and- continuing the first one. I was worried I'd be bored in Act I but I'm not at all. So far. I think I will merge the timelines by the end of Act II.

The things I do for this girl.

Should have done the same. I was twenty+ hours later in act two when I began to suspect something was off, and I have already turned down everyone else. I even had the "I would like to touch you/I'd like to be touched" moment, but it just never went anywhere.

I can recommend it. Each version of us is improved by the experiences of the other. We get ever better at being me.

I had the moment at the grove party where I could have declared myself or something but it seemed almost ridiculous. Who knew it was the only chance? There's a lesson in that.

Mostly the lesson is romances should not be quite so particular about timing but you know another.

If you fail to romance Karlach in Act 1 and try to romance her in Act2 by asking if she has anyone in mind she wants to touch, she’ll mention Withers was giving her the old eye.

It is funny and to be fair it's easy to make a joke at a key moment you don't realise was a key moment. She's much clearer about not being left at camp (and I don't it's her + legendary Wyll + special guest adventurer), which is sweet and it's nice being called the best of the best of the best but Karlach is not a read-between-the-lines sort.

Nor am I. Back to the future it is.

I just realized I am going through the same thing and now I am really sad. She rejected me during the party and guess now I will have to wait until the next play through. I hate this.

I know how you feel. I refused to accept it.

Two timelines has been enjoyable honestly; I've already found and done a lot I didn't in Universe I. It has reduced my progress by more than half. I'm spending quite a lot of time in Universe II. The only downside is a slight am-I-missing-out feeling becaues I'm no longer storming the world plunging towards Act III but I'm not in a hurry.

And I just realised I can go get Karlach in Universe II anytime. There is quite a bit of fighting between the start and where she is but I can handle that.

Then save the grove.

And a dozen impossible missions at Moonrise in Universe I.

No problem.

So I'm romancing Karlach and she's said it's fine if I see other people until the burning flesh thing is sorted.

Which was unexpected.

However I've learned she fancies the blacksmith who I was good friends with so even though she literally cannot have ever done anything about it I resent him a bit. Maybe more than a bit.
