Wyll - I'm looking at Bard for him too, or Paladin. Either Lore for the spells, or Vengeance to kill all those filthy, disgusting GAWBLINS 31,52% more effectively!
Bard is not really his thing after speaking to him a bit, though I see where you are going. The Paladin of Vengeance seems a better fit and then dual class him.
