Well, you could say that a skill such as weapon repairing is connected to weapon making as well, although making a weapon is more professional and a higher level indeed. I was thinking that it could be a complete quest by its own right and while making and forging the weapon you gain strength and muscles as well as experience not based on killing.
The idea was to find the blue print first and by inspecting it now and then you can check your items list needed for construction.
You may not have that feeling yet, but making your weapon as a complete quest is very rewarding, especially when you try your own-made weapon on the first encounter after making it and find it to be very effective then you give it a name of your choice. To increase its wielding power though, you need to take the tin bucket and fill it with a dragon’s blood after slaying a dragon of course, and take that bucket of dragon’s blood back to your forge and heat your sword then quench it in the dragon’s blood and you double the wielding damage of your weapon. You could find a wild bore with great teeth and take the ivory for a fabulous handle that increases fencing and hit accuracy.
All such side quests are not a distraction from the main quest at all but it adds many optional hours of fun.
I am sure that it will be much more fun than killing a Shrimpo. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
