If the game itself loads, but particular saves do not, then the problem could be;
[*] the files / save folder could be marked as read-only (if it was backed up to CD-R then restored), in which case you can select all of the files, right click, select properties and clear the read-only flag
[*] there could be a corrupt file in the save. Depending on which file is corrupt, it may be fixable, or it may be replaceable with a corresponding one from the next most recent working save (that could cause other problems, though they might be fixable or avoidable).
[*] there could be files missing from the saved game folder (in '..\Divine Divinity\Run\savegames'). A new game should have 22 files, after going to either Verdistis or the Dark Forest it should have 27, after going to both it should have 32, and after getting to the wastelands it should have 37. Missing files may be replaceable.
