If you have summons, you can
have them stand on the circles in front of the sacrificial spawn and block those powers being sent to Cazador. I had Cazador in Sunlight getting pelted by ranged attacks.
Regarding Astarion, I had Shadowheart and Gale Dimension door over to him and free him beginning of round 1. But I prioritize initiative magic items.
