So I have preordered the edition of Baldur's Gate 3 on the PS5, with early acces. I was excited to start playing today. I booted up the game and noticed wierd all-black shading, both with or without HDR enabled. It makes the game completely unplayable as the beginning areas is just a dark blob basically! If this is a bug, repair it fast, before I decide to get a refund! I have payed 80 euros for this!

Same for me. Literally unplayable. Tried to turn off HDR on PS5 but didn't help either

Same problem with me. It is literally washed out with this weird black shading in the starting area which makes the game unplayable on my LG C1. Please fix this asap.

Hello! The team is currently looking into this issue. In the meantime, please try the following workaround:
Go to Settings -> Screen and Video -> Adjust HDR -> at 3/3 (Black Point), increase this value by 1.

Thanks the workaround works, however you still need to fix this, because otherwise I'd need to change the HDR setting each and and every time just to play this game.... Please patch this ASAP! Thanks!

Hello what do you mean by adjust HDR I dont see any setting in the game that would be called that and I have LG C1 TV and cant find anything like that to in the tv settings and I am using PS5

I'm so glad I'm not the only one having this problem on PS5. The shading is really bad. I can't create my character because I can't see his face unless I make him white. I've tried playing around the HDR settings and nothing is working.

They are referring to the PS5 settings, not the game's in this case. I'm testing it to see if it works

Can confirm the workaround works.. I don't think the Blackpoint change by 1 level is noticeable enough to be a big issue in other games, so I'd consider it a good workaround. But hopefully they come up with a more solid fix. Thanks, Larian for the quick workaround!

I too have the issue. I disabled HDR for the time being but will try the workaround tomorrow.

You might find it easier to leave HDR on and increase your PS5's blackpoint setting by 1. It was night and day for me. You will need to close the game first though
