I’m not sure if this was discussed here, but anyone noticed Astarion’s quest finale has a big plot hole?

Cazador desperately needs Astarion to perform the ritual. But he starts it before Astarion even arrives in his castle. Moreover, he orders to magically seal the door, so when the player actually arrives with Astarion (or without him), they need to find the way inside. When Astarion is inside, Cazador is happy, because NOW he can perform the ritual.

Why did he start it without Astarion and blocked the way?

Or maybe I'm missing something?
