I just don't understand why Lae'zel doesn't volunteer to become the mind flayer at the end to save Orpheus. I mean, she knows he must live to free her people, and if he dies, he can't do that, and she can't do anything without him. So, why can't she do it instead, and then die as a hero and ascend like she wanted or something? Just weird to me that she of all people doesn't give her life to protect the prince of comets.
