If Astarion becomes a vampire ascendent, he should be able to self res like any standard vampire, even a spawn when it dies becomes nigh invincible mist to recover at their chosen place of death (certain ground or a sarcophucus, etc.)
When he get ascendent, if he dies, after a long rest he should appear as mist and revive once more.
it's just good RP, also the vampire ascendent could be buffed, if not 20 hp a turn, at least 5, like the ring of regeneration.
