I just wanted to try out BG3 and have been meaning to get into D&D as many of my table top friends do. I just can't find myself to be able to immerse myself as a Paladin who is but a humble soldier at the core. Let me elaborate on my issue by pointing out that fantasy worlds such as BG, D&D, Warhammer etc etc all have big and pronounced parallels with IRL medieval/ early renaissance history, architecture, technology, theology and what have you. That being said, you see buildings, clothing, furniture and weapons that wouldn't look in the slightest out of place in museums and historically authentic movie sets and the like, EXCEPT FOR ONE THING! Armors. Why is it that all heavy "knight"-like armor is all covered in ornate excess that would serve no other purpose than to slow down an already heavily laden wearer and would just break off at first hit with a sword, or worse not break but would allow an adversary to bind his weapon on and manipulate his opponent. There is a reason why even Kings didn't go completely overboard with ornate structures and heraldry on their armor IRL. Please for goodness sake Developers of BG3 give me some boring looking historically authentic knights armor set that doesn't look like it comes straight out of LOTR especially more historically authentic bascinets like my personal favorite the bascinet with a bow looking visor or just the classic bucket helmet anything really just anything other than those horrid things already in game that no self respecting knight would wear into battle the only use my character sees in those things is a misbegotten chamberpot.
P.s. Devs I'd no joke pay $30 for an Armor DLC with just a few historically authentic knight armor sets and I can't be the only one
