Its so clunky, busy, and annoying... The radial menu is a mess and I feel like all the clicking I have to do dramatically slows the game down. The best part is the directional walking and camera rotation... The cursor is way to big and its hard to focus on smaller details, the d-pad to highlight objects is not good enough and would be unneeded if the cursor was better. Do you guys like this? The game is virtually unplayable for me on Ps5.

I felt that way at first but have really gotten used to the controls and actually enjoy them now. Figuring out some of the shortcuts like holding up to take out your torch or down to go into stealth has helped. Also you can hold down X to search an area without needing to click on everything.

Yes, it's awful compared to KB&M.

The camera is all over the place and never really as I want it, a certain hag's cavern full of gas traps was a nightmare to navigate... the camera was jumping up, down, to the sides, terrible.

In combat as well, 90% of my gameplay is fiddling with camera angle and distance, my god, it's awful.

Radial menus are OK, but you have to spend time to actually set them up how you want. I did it and I'm now happy how it works.

Also not a fan of having to make 2-5 button presses in order to switch party members...

Is it the same as the controller interface/UI on PC?

If so, it's amazing.

if not, that's just weird then.

It is a terrible UI... how did this pass testing on consoles?

Suggestions:
Allow FULL button re-mapping. Let me use all the buttons as I see fit.
Use the directional pad buttons left/right to switch characters.

Agree... the switching characters is super cumbersome. The UI in DoS2 was fine.

I play on controller on PC and the only tricky part is selecting barrels.

Would be nice if something you want is not something abstract.

Councellor Florrick's favorite Warlock.

Wait, can't PS5 users just use a mouse and keyboard?!? This is a next gen system right? instead of this INFERIOR controller support to the game.

This looks infuriating to deal with making an already slow game even slower and annoying.

*I just tried controller on my PC for 40 seconds. It is beyond torture. Went back ASAP to mouse and keyboard. lol.

See thats what I am talking about. SHIT controller support UI that impacts on the general UI for mouse and keyboard. I bet you that stupid chain UI mechanic is ALL due to controller support for example.
And hey, surprise surprise, BG3 did quite amazingly FINE without console gamers and release up to now.

*just checked looks like PS5 does not let you have them!. Seriously, in an age of fast non laggy wireless systems.
The only positive I can see with controllers is that you can boast 300 hours gameplay on an already pretty long 75 to 100 hour game smile lol

Actually that would be quite the interesting data to check out...general game length depending on your control method.

It just reminded me of the bowl of goat's milk that old Winthrop used to put outside his door every evening for the dust demons. He said the dust demons could never resist goat's milk, and that they would always drink themselves into a stupor and then be too tired to enter his room..

I see why the mods and admins don't bother with being here. Nerds are the worst. Literally what else could it be besides a radial wheel and button presses?

I'll have to play some more i'm only about 5 hours in, but as I haven't played PC with KB/M, I only have the PS5 - but personally while I need to adjust to the different radials, I like that the controller didn't exist as a hinderance to the game releasing (i.e. too many abilities).

Remapping buttons wouldn't be a bad feature for the controller - although personally I am okay with it for now. I only when I can do a session with my friend so it will be a slow process to see how I feel about it later on :P

Something that is designed, and doesn't require extensive maintenance. That's what I want, not expect. Larian for some reason is incapable or unwilling to have good UI - be it party controls, inventory or hotbar, they seem to be recreating problems that games solved in the 90s.

K&M has a similar problem, though drop down menus alleviate the problem. Hotbar remains a mess, requiring extensive customisation AND refusing to remember player's choices. As far as I have seen controller UI has hotbar only, in form of multiple radial menus with no sense or reason.

We played Divinity 2 and the radials seem fine. We're 30+ hours in Act 1 and our only complain other than the obvious performance issues on Ps5 is the fact that you can't combine the screens during combat. Turn off things showing up in the dial automatically on the settings and organize it the way you'd like and you're set. The UI is much cleaner this way.

Once you get used to the radials and customize them the way you like, it's pretty good. I wish I could drag and re-order my radials though.

I wish there was a button for changing my weapon set though. For example if I use all my actions and my bonus action but I want to switch to my melee weapons this is a one simple button click on PC but I haven't found a way to do this on PS5.
