Hello everyone,

We’ve got a new hotfix for you today, fixing several bugs, glitches, and multiplayer issues.

Minthara lovers, your ship has come in. This hotfix takes care of a bug that blocked access to some of Minthara’s lines of dialogue, including some hot takes from your companions about your decision to date the ruthless Oath of Vengeance Paladin.

If approval is high enough, your romance with Minthara will progress in Act 3. This unlocks several new dialogues allowing you to explore and deepen the relationship, and discover more details of Minthara's backstory. Alongside many lines of interactive dialogue, many more non-interactive voiced lines are available with Minthara as a romantic partner.

Minthara isn't the only one who has new things to say though. Other companions in the party will comment on the relationship and may even find themselves on Minthara's bad side (there is no good side; we've looked really hard for it) should they have their own romantic entanglements with you. And Minthara won't watch silently if you stray from her side, whether your dalliance is with another member of the party, or [redacted].

We also have a number of fixes for just PS5 players. We’ve fixed graphical issues on HDR TVs, an issue in which game audio on PS5 stopped working, and a crash that would occur when opening the onscreen keyboard.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Fixed a bug that locked players out of many of Minthara’s lines of dialogue.

CRASHES AND BLOCKERS
  • Fixed sometimes not being able to talk to NPCs or party members because the game thought you were still in a dialogue.
  • Fixed a rare crash that would occur when faraway characters got close to the party.
  • Fixed a crash that would occur if a guard responding to a crime created a summon (e.g. an elemental), and you fled the combat or were incapacitated without killing the summon.

PS5
  • Fixed an issue causing the game's audio to stop working on PS5.
  • Fixed graphical issues on HDR TVs when the HDR black level calibration was set to 0.
  • Fixed a crash that would occur when opening the onscreen keyboard.

PERFORMANCE
  • Fixed a memory leak when creating and destroying many objects.

MULTIPLAYER
  • Improved performance when cycling through Character Sheet tabs in splitscreen.
  • Fixed splitscreen not working correctly when a client with splitscreen already enabled joins a multiplayer game.
  • Fixed dismissed avatars not showing up properly in Withers' Wardrobe if the host is at camp and is already looking inside the wardrobe.
  • Fixed characters sometimes disappearing on splitscreen when the client reconnects after disconnecting while listening in on a dialogue.
  • Clients rejoining a multiplayer game where there's a dismissed avatar in Withers' Wardrobe will now be able to pick that avatar up again rather than have to create a new avatar. (This bug would happen when the client left the session and another player selected that client's avatar in the middle of the dismiss-to-camp dialogue.)

FLOW AND GAMEPLAY
  • Trader NPCs will now retain their Approval Rating of avatars and companions even after they're dismissed to Withers' Wardrobe.
  • Fixed
    the Emperor
    not dying and therefore not triggering the Game Over flow if you bring him to 0 HP outside of combat in
    the Astral Plane
    .
  • Fixed not being able to talk to Minthara at camp if you dismissed her outside of camp.
  • Fixed Level Up not working as expected if you level up while the game is saving.
  • Fixed Hag's Bane not having an effect on
    Auntie Ethel
    .

UI
  • Fixed text being cut off in the title of tutorial pop-ups.
  • Fixed button prompts getting cut off on the Multiplayer Settings screen on splitscreen.
  • Fixed some UIs not updating when saving, causing, for example, Shadowheart's inventory to appear empty when you recruit her on the beach.
  • Fixed the tadpole count in the Radial Menu on controller.

CONTROLLER
  • Fixed characters getting stuck when the Analog Stick Selection setting is set to Left Stick and you rotate the stick in circles as far as it can go.

ART
  • Added nipple covers to
    Cazador's spawn
    for when the nudity filter is enabled.

LEVEL DESIGN
  • Moved Withers' Wardrobe in the crèche camp to avoid clipping with Shadowheart's tent.

Still no fix for the Archfey Warlock cantrip at level 4. Why won't you fix this? I reported almost a month ago and every update since. I put my game on hold thinking it would be a quick fix since other classes receive similar fixes. After two major patches and 5 hotfixes, it's still broken. I want to play the game, but I don't want to continue playing on a character with missing abilities.

True that, I've spoilered that line to be safe!

Also for those that might be wondering: the Minthara dialogue fix should apply to existing saves! A change in approval (positive or negative) and being in camp should trigger the dialogues.

Edit: Correction on this! You shouldn't need the approval change, just to be in the correct approval rating and enter camp.

Thank you for the prompt updates! Especially the ps5 fixes.

I want to just raise here, though I have elsewhere, about the issue in ps5 multilayer. We had an issue with being unable to load into a save by a host.

In this case I was the host, my friend would nearly fully load then unable to connect it also disconnects our party in playstation whether we use the normal ps party or discord via ps.

I would see "player joined" then "[username] has left" right after.

I assume its on your radar but its the biggest performance issue we had and I've seen it happen to others, raised in the technical section of the forums as well.

I've seen for people with a few in their party it usually affects one person not everyone joining so the save itself we think isn't faulty.

Workaround for most is for the save data for the person joining to be cleared, cloud and local. That worked first time but not second for us.

Our workaround for the time being was to host on my friends we managed to load once without issue but hoping it doesn't lock me out this time.

Any acknowledgement on this would be appreciated and if you need anything. I've raised a support ticket for this FYI.

Do I need to reload a save to get the Minthara lines, like from before I rescue her from Moonrise Towers, or do I just play my latest save?

Question;

Are the submitted bug reports ignored after getting the automated email below?

Because I've reported a over a dozen issues by now which are fully detailed yet without any actual acknowledgment while their issues still remain in the game, so are the reports now completely ignored until I reply back to all the emails or will they eventually all get investigated?

For example the [NPC] - The Ogres Despawn Mid-Combat After Turning Hostile issue which I reported both here and officially, got the following automated emails;

I assume they want to make sure the issue is still happening with the most current version of the game, rather than only when you originally reported it.

I won't be able to play for a bit because of IRL stuff going one but man, this update sounds amazing, this is *the* fix the game most desperately needed, Minthara's content fixed.

That's precisely the issue.

I do not keep save files of bugs I report and I have no clue whether the bug reports are being ignored now because they took too long to respond. After all I'm not a playtester; I record the issue, provide a savefile, report the bug in detail and move on. No official response is necessary because all the detailed proof is in the report so it just needs to be investigated and fixed.

But right now I have no clue whether all the reports I sent are thrown into the trashcan for taking too long to respond or the reports will eventually get looked at. If I report bugs I expect them to get looked at, not have an expiration date, so need some official clarification on this before I reply back to automated emails because naturally the issues are not fixed at all.

So are the bug reports actually taken into account just by being submitted or do they become ignored after a while and require the user to reply back to the automated emails?
I have not received any replies to the last several bug reports I've submitted besides the initial automated reply. I've received replies before acknowledging my bug report and informing me that it's a known issue and is being worked on. I reported the issue with the Archfey warlock when I hit level 4 and noticed it. I have not receive any farther emails, so I've submitted it again after each patch and hotfix to let them know it still exists. Since there have been two patches and 5 hotfixes since then, I'm wondering if my bug report has even been read by a human.

On PS5: We’re playing on split screen. Before this patch, we occasionally had the issue that the left stick would become unresponsive in turn-based and targeting mode. It would be impossible to move and selecting a target would only work with the directional buttons. Outside of combat, pressing L3 or using the cursor to target an area with throw, jump, etc. won’t work. The only way to fix it is to save and reload.

Since this patch, this and something very similar now happens every every few minutes, making the game very hard to enjoy. In addition to the behaviour described above, when trying to select a target, the targeting circle would always default to appear right next to the other controlled character, completely immovable. Fixable with saving and reloading, but that’s getting very time intensive when it happens every few minutes.

Apart from that, I hope there will be some performance improvements when summoning entities or casting spells. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a full animation because the game freezes for 5-8 seconds when summoning anything, in or out of combat, and a couple of seconds when doing pretty much anything other than simply walking…

Um, guys? Developers don't reply to bug reports. They literally don't have the time to do that.
