I don't want to pile on the fat bodies for CC discussion, since that is something, I'm totally impartial to. I wouldn't use it, but I had no problem with the option being there.
On the other hand, I find it strange that we don't encounter fat people in BG for example, not adventurers, but totally normal people. That would indeed add to the immersion, since someone, not doing physical work and like to eat and drink might get a bit plumb around the waist.
