Going by the voice example button in character creation I picked the grouchiest voice on offer for my Half-orc slightly dark side Barbarian.

Sadly, he still sounds like an upper-class, highly educated toff from Oxford University. frown

Can we please get some (or one) deep, grouchy, rough-sounding "bouncer" voice option for characters?

Westley from Princess Bride, Half-orc Barbarian, just doesn't have the right ring to it.

Please and thank you!

I want a Minthara like voice actor for male and female drow as well. A snarling, serpentine voice that is menacing. Drow feel wrong being so soft spoken.

It's been mentioned a lot and we're all baffled by the game having amazing voice actors for NPC's while having seemingly overlooked the character completely. Not that the voices are bad, they're just waaay to similar and doesn't reflect the variety of characters one might want to play (old, dragonborn, gruff, up-beat, etc). I can hardly differentiate between the make options.

The weird thing is that this happens in a game with arguably the best voice acting in any game to date.

It's aggravating that so much went into npcs and origin characters, and the voices for custom characters are so limited by comparison.

Role-playing is the entire purpose of the game and yet I'm stuck with my huge barbarian dragon man sounding like a mundane posh British guy. Where's the sly, snarky voice set for rogues? The boisterous and booming voice for warriors? Why do all characters and races mumble the same lines all the time regardless of race or class? Why give so many options for changing character appearance but undercut it by having no diversity for the way they sound and speak?

For a game that's been praised up and down for its attention to detail, there's a surprising amount of low hanging fruit left in the most important places.

I would love to have a Volo's Guide to Monsters type of expansion to the game. I wanted to play a hobgoblin, but this wasn't an option, so I went with the half-orc, but even then my character still sounds like an English gentlemen. I do really enjoy the Dark Urge lines though.

It's not just the sound of the voices either it's also the writing.
There's no option for evil/ less good characters.
At least for female characters ( haven't played a male character ) the voice lines all sound too kind like they were written with a good character in mind, not even neutral.

The same goes for a lot of dialogue options too, where even turning people down when they ask you for help you'll apologize for not helping them sometimes lol.
I am trying to do an evil playthrough, not stupidly evil even but just '' I am out for myself and don't shy away from killing people '' and I feel like my character is being too nice.

Edit: I played Pathfinder WoTR recently too and there you have actual diversity in terms of choices of how to RP your character.
It's insane how limited to me BG3 feels after having played WoTR, I feel like the dialogue options were so much more varied in terms of personality of your character.
ESPECIALLY if we take mythic paths into consideration too.

In BG3 I feel like the game is kinda fighting against me and how I want to play.
