Please add a “Tabletop” difficulty that would
-Save at every dice roll, rest, area load, etc.
-provide a suspend feature that can only be used in combination with exiting of the game
-remove revive scroll purchases and make that scroll extremely
Rare
-disable loads (other than to resume
-character death is permanent.
-AI for party members (so the player doesn’t have to control them all)

This would be an awesome close to recreation of the tabletop experience.

"No, Astarion, don't walk into the Cloudkill!"

I don't want to think about why my eye is itching.

Hence it being a difficulty option. Too hard for you? Don’t play it.

It already exists. It is called multiplayer.

How would the AI party member work if traps had to be disarmed or something had to be unlocked?

Like if you have Astarion as your rogue but he didn't notice the trap or lock but you or someone else does how would he go about it? Would you tell Jim? Like would there be an option to tell him?

I suppose it would be like NWN2 where there's an option to have the NPC auto disarm and auto unlock if traps/locks are detected by any party member.

Ok never thought of that.

Would they also keep trying until they got it if they had enough of the tools?

I still control all party members.

My thoughts are if I only had one or two co-op partners an AI player could fill the vacant seat. And changing the save behavior adds pressure like in tabletop. You’re right I could control myself but I like not having a choice.

Everything you suggested can be implemented in your game right now, by YOU. You have practically suggested to not save scum or revivify via items. You need a whole difficulty option for that? Just...do it.

I don't know what kind of self-harm you're into, but the AI in BG3 is very, very stupid. You're not going to get a true TT experience with this, you'll just get 3 baboons that intentionally kill themselves at any opportunity.

I really hope at the least they add an increased difficulty mode with only 1 save, this sounds awesome. The way things are the game is incredibly easy for me on tactician so I can't see myself enjoying multiple playthroughs.

This is called Ironman and has been a play style for PC Games for many years. They do not need to implement it, just exercise self control and do it yourself.

That's how I have been playing, I've finished playthroughs with 2 origin characters so far taking my time and exploring everything possible and have not really been min-maxing and keeping their original classes and subclasses, the tactician difficulty just seems too forgiving and there is an overabundance of fail safes if you take your time and play decently. Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 had more difficulty options and certain spells damage thresholds could cause perma death and morale which made for interesting playthroughs if you lost some companions to use others you wouldn't normally use.
