I have this problem from time to time, One of my character's portraits was just of his hips (which I thought was due to his height, he was the large body type).
On another character, Lae'zels portrait is low (mostly just the top of her head) with a blackish background.
It seems to happen sometimes when I level up, then the portrait can somehow be messed up after.
