For this very reason, during the Early Access, I have always been a strong advocate for having few races, but with good writing that takes the context into account. Many people wanted Goliaths, Kobolds, etc., for personal whims, without thinking for a moment that it would have been impossible to implement these races narratively. In fact, the Githyanki Tav is disappointing. In my opinion, simply having Lae'zel as an Origin would have been enough.
