Wait. Can you survive getting the mace without doing all that?
You have to destroy every power source crystal when you're in the chamber with the mace. It's doable, but it's incredibly annoying. Not sure whether you can do so before trying to steal the mace. I find it way easier/quicker to just place the correct weapon types (normal weapons will suffice, no need to hunt for the ceremonial ones) on the altars to get the dawnmaster's crest
