BG3 is IMO a very forgiving game. I liked how in EA e.g. Gloves of Power not only did not do shit if you were unbranded, but actualy bit you in the ass. Nerfed in launch ...
Hence the harshness of permanent loss of 6 Atribute Points is shocking! :P

But then again - does WIZ and INT really matter for a Fighter (even if Eldrtch Knight)? The loss of some HP due to -2CON and some failed CON saves is more meaningful, but far, far from a game changer.
True - if this happens to a TAV from one of the brainiac class then it is a bigger "ouchie".

that is surprising, plus being hidden - I discovered the degrading of stats many hours laters. Which points to one or any of the following - unattentive player, irrelevance, and/or stealth of the information.
