Eh...while I can understand the pain some people have (it IS arguably the best robe for a charisma caster) I kind of like the scene in question and wouldn't want it changed. You are the dark urge, there are things you do that are out of your control.
Part of me wonders if making this item totally unavailable to DU was totally intentional, in fact. DU is, by default, a charisma caster, and the robe is great for charisma casters. Maybe it's some odd way of saying crime doesn't pay.
