Are you deliberately trying to provoke people?

Asking that after saying "unless my friend makes a copy..." looks like you are trying to find out how much work will be required to pirate the game. At the very least, it is in poor taste to talk about pirating software on the company's official forum.

CD keys don't do much to prevent piracy, unless it is for software purchased online (and the key can be tied to a name/address/phone number), there is a mandatory registration (Windows XP), or it is for an online-only game where a server can keep track of keys and make sure two people can not use the same key at the same time.

agreed. cd keys, online registration, whatever so-called iron-clad protection there is, if a pirate (hardy har har <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" /> ) is really desperate to crack it, he/she will. so the buck is passed back to us gamers. are we that desperate to get it that we don't care that it's illegal? or do we care enough that we pay 4-5 times the amount of a pirated version? which is it?

bad form johnson...what you do is your own responsibility but you have also failed to have any tact what so ever. Please think before you write.

in this case johnson, not having tact is blurting out you stole a game to the developers of said game.

think about this: say you spend a great deal of time, money and effort to make something that you are extremely proud of. it takes a long time to finally get it out to people who are eagerly awaiting it's arrival. you're happy about people demanding your product, because all your effort has not gone to waste. the expense of making and distributing your thing is a great deal, and you need every bit of profit to make more things for people who are demanding them. now, with the thought of the money you need for the next things to make weighing on your mind, someone walks up to you and says, "hey! hows it going? i love your thing, it's totally cool? can you help with this and this? oh, by the way, i stole it and ripped you off. but it's cool, right? and i'll probably steal your next one, too. lol!"

I don't know if you're too dumb, haven't met you in RL - but your opinion about illegal copies is indeed offending towards an official developer forum.
And I do think it is not appropriate here to defend your non-payment-policy.
My personal conclusion about you lacking tact or not: Yes, you do in this case. I just haven't quite figured out if you do it by own choice or out of the adolescent stage you're in at the moment. But I hope, you will be able to see - after the storms of puberty have ceased - how damaging this piracy opinion is.

awww...... fellow forum members, please refrain yourselves from getting worked up for nothing. clearly johnson won't change his stance even if everyone in the forum grovels. he has his 'principles', dark it may be in our eyes. so save yourselves the ineffective posts & go on with other things. whatever little time we have in our lives should be spent well on people who need and/or appreciate it.

Well, we can't judge other people for theyr mistakes. I know isn't right what he did and babalbalablbabal but what we can do? Attack him? I don't know but i won't do nothing against nobody here, i think the only person who can decide this are the admin people, because this is a right of them and they have to do what they think is right.

I know my opinion probably doesn't matter, but i thinkyou have made the right decision.
He had no right to be on this forum, to openly say he would/does pirate games...
