I got to the end where you could choose to give the Emperor the stones, turn to a mind flayer yourself or free Orpheus and have him become a mind flayer. But, it was very lackluster after all the time we spent building up what relationship we have with the Emperor. Having him straight join the Netherbrain if you free Orpheus was jarring. Like, he expected us to trust him but wouldn't put an ounce of trust in our decision to free the Prince and then just dropping us like a hat for the brain was... certainly something. Then to find out that no matter what someone had to change to use the stones was, again, certainly something. It felt... kinda rushed as an ending. And just... offputting? Disappointing? I don't know how else to describe it.

Having an option to persuade the Emperor to trust us, or something, would have made sense. Especially since the Prince knew the only way to stop the Netherbrain was to become a mind flayer. Why force the MC or Orpheus to do it when there is a full fledged mind flayer supposedly working on our side to free himself from the brain in the first place?

Just a thought, though I know it would probably require a lot of extra work to add that option to the ending in some way.
