The way the description reads is that you select the targets you want to protect and it’s limited but I haven’t run into that. It seems automatic and I can still damage myself! Also does it apply to higher level Evocation AoE spells? I cast Level 4 Ice Storm and some of my party took damage. I think anyway but it may have been from enemy attacks.
