I'm not going to go through and earmark everyone's comments I'm responding to here, but I'm just gonna speedily give my, I guess opinions? On the Rough Outline of what people have been saying in response to my suggest.

Boiling down my original point so people don't have to back read/can maybe actually understand what I was saying instead of the multitudes of things ya'll seem to think I was trying to ask for: In a strategy D&D themed RPG video game, I find it weird that they lock you out of a lot of animation trees because of one of at most 4, occasionally 2, body types to choose from without any preamble or warning that it might do that. I understand objectively why they added some sort of lock for possible buggy animations, but I and plenty of other people have been pulled out of the game experience by very random animation routes they have No Say Over in the game itself. Especially considering that some characters already have the dialog/RP option to change or, as the title says, have agency in the scene (note: this isn't even limited to sex scenes). The behind the scenes triggers are already there, so it wouldn't be that difficult to add an additional dialog option -- for example -- that allows you to pick Astarion up rather than vice versa, or the same with Karlarch (or a roll to attempt), depended on the in game choices rather than purely cosmetic ones VIA how tall you want to be when in character creation.

I think it's weird that a lot of people here's gut reaction was to... interpret me saying "I want to chose how my character acts in a role playing game" to somehow mean I want a full on sexual role playing game about nothing but fucking?? If I wanted a sex game I wouldn't be playing this lol. There are plenty of other spots in the game with this exact same issue where you are forced into dialog trees with virtually no context or warning and the only way to find out is to save-scum and hope for the best. I was just talking about specifically the romance trees because 1) frankly the most popular part of the game at the moment online and 2) it made me very uncomfortable to have my options taken from me out of nowhere in a sex scene and I wanted to say something online in case other people had similar experiences. That's weird, and unpleasant, and it ruins the immersion and fun of the moment.

(Also, I really think acting like I'm asking for the game to ask your preferences for sexual positions in each scene/start of game is in bad faith. Again, the game literally already has implemented what I am asking for in Lae'zel's sex scene where you have the dialog option to flip the script on her and intimidate her back when she tries to intimidate you -- which is why I refereed to that as an option in the dice as its WHAT THEY ALREADY USE IN GAME. Like either hit and miss attempt at a joke or entirely missing what I was saying)

Plus ya'll xD treating this like I'm acting like I'll Keel Over and Die on the SPOT if they don't add this Right Now! is fucking insane xD It's a video game, I'm not sitting here stewing over how this impacts my life long term. I'm just Suggesting it as an Option since I know I'm not the only one who'd prefer to have more impactful choices for important romance scenes with characters.

Also I'm not going to even Touch that batshit comment there about lecturing me about safe sex practices and the apparent homophobic history of top/bottom. I'm using it like any reasonable person uses it when talking in shorthand online -- who's getting it and who's giving. Like this is a BG3 forum discussion not a college debate. I'm not having important meaningful conversations about very nuanced topics with some internet stranger over a perceived moral slight lmao

Anyway, if they add more agency and dialog options in game, great, if not oh well, I did my job of mentioning it online. It's not gonna Suddenly make me hate or discard the game. And even if they do decide to do it, I'm not beholden to a time-frame -- there's a metric ass-ton of far more important things to add. But I'm not just going to Not add my suggestion because they're doing something else. I said my opinion on what I think will make the game more immersive/fun for a lot of people and they can do what they will with it from here (also the jokes were funny so dont feel like i was was assmad about them lol)
