Im not too far with my Monk, so i dont really know how big issue this could cause ...
But quite honestly, looking at all those unarmed combat improoving items ... i feel like endgame monk will be a beast, when fighting without weapon.
Sadly, there is no way to make unarmed attack, when you have weapon equipped.
(and i repeat, im not so far yet, so maybe i find out this is completely nonsence, and there is still reason to use weapon even at level 10)
I think i know what are some of you thinking ... "logicaly, you cant make *unarmed* attack, when you are *armed*" ... well, i just disagree ... i think anyone should be able to decide to not use his weapon this turn.
I bet some people would say something like ... "yeah, so just dont equip weapon ... duh" ... and that is fair point, except as you probably know, weapons in this game provide much more than just damage dices ... there are weapons that incerase your AC, Jump Distance, Give you conditional bonuses (usualy advantage) to every strike you deal (not sure if that is intentional tho), or giving you imunity on falling damage, or providing certain usefull spells ... and ofcourse there are those special weapon attacks, and its fine to have those at your disposal when maximum damage is not your concern at the moment.
And from roleplay perspective, it would certainly be nice if Monks of Open Hand tradition ... so called "masters of unarmed combat" would be able to actually fight that way. :-/
Thank you!
