Im quite honestly intrigued to try some (possibly Barbarian?) build strongly focused on Throwing ...
There is even several weapons that are returning to wielder hands after throwed, wich certainly make things a lot easier.

BUT!!!

There is big problem (at least for me) ...
Once our character throws their weapon, the game conciders them to be unarmed ... just for the duration of throw animation ... so there is litteraly no mechanical implication, nor any practical effect of this nonsence.

Except, it messes the shit out of your hotbar. -_-

And while i admit that this is mainly problem of by OCD (compulsive urge to have things on my hotbar sorted the way i wanted them) ...
This part is very annoying to me ... especialy since i see no point! :-/
Yes, i obviously understand that our character dont "hold" their weapon for that fragment of second after they throw it ... but COME ON! Its happening within a SINGLE TURN (fragment of it, if you throw twice, or more, during your turn) ... so, what benefit is this nonsence serving, except pissing me off? :-/
(wich i presume would please some people :P laugh )

So ... here is my suggestion:
When i lock my hotbar ... KEEP IF F*****G LOCKED!!! Pretty please. ^_^

I imagine it like this:
- Player lock a hotbar ... things are locked from now on ...
Meaning: Nothing is added, nothing is removed, nothing is even moved ...
(this would probably require some hard lock and soft lock in settings, or just exceptions for potions, scrolls, throwable and stuff)
- Once some thing stops being aviable, its button grays out ...
(for example when you are disarmed, or throw your weapon)
- Once some thing starts being aviable, its button is collored again ...
(Bcs, logicaly ... even if you are disarmed, you will go take your weapon back, meaning you will be rearanging your bar the way it was ... so what benefit does it serve if you have to rearange your bar again and again and again, just to be disarmed again two turns later? -_- )

It's actually problematic gameplay-wise as well.

Effects that apply on-hit (such as gaining lightning charges) don't apply because "you're unarmed" even though the weapon is coming back (Eldrich Knight).
Effects that definitely should only apply for unarmed attacks DO apply when throwing weapons because "you're unarmed".

So I'd really like to see Larian investigate how throwing works smile

PS: A QoL change where Javelins and Handaxe stack would be really nice!
